To integrate sustainability into the organisation of the 2026 European Rowing Championships Varese by actively engaging stakeholders to maximise positive impacts, minimise negative onesand create a lasting legacy for the local area, the community, and future generations.

Our Anti-Discrimination Policy
At Varese 2026 we firmly condemn all forms of discrimination, harassment, intimidation, or offensive behaviour based on gender identity, sexual orientation, age, nationality, ethnic origin, religion, personal beliefs, disability, or any other individual characteristic. Such behaviour will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
To this end, we have adopted an anti-discrimination policy based on the following principles:
- Respect, ensuring that every person is treated with dignity, fairness, and impartiality;
- Inclusion, promoting an open, accessible, and welcoming environment for everyone;
- Collaboration, fostering dialogue, active listening, and mutual support among all parties involved;
- Accountability, recognising the responsibility of every individual to help maintain a respectful environment, as well as the Organising Committee’s commitment to receiving, handling, and following up on all reports impartially, and to being accountable for the decisions taken.
Any incident of discrimination, harassment or inappropriate behaviour must be promptly reported to the Organising Committee by sending a communication to the following email address: safeguarding@canottierivarese.com.
Every report will be carefully reviewed by our Safeguarding Officer, who will gather the necessary information and hear from the persons involved. If the report is found to be substantiated, the Organising Committee will adopt the measures it considers most appropriate in light of the seriousness of the incident, such as:
- formal warning;
- temporary or permanent removal from the event;
- referral to the competent authorities where the conduct constitutes a breach of the law.
If the conduct is committed by an athlete or a member of an international delegation, the Team Leader of the relevant federation will be informed immediately and involved in the handling of the matter, without prejudice to the Organising Committee’s right to adopt any measures it considers necessary to ensure the safety of, and respect for, all persons attending the event.
